Aurélie Huprelle of Pierrefonds in the Oise was 26 and dying of advanced pulmonary tuberculosis. She had been bedridden for over a year with fevers, drenching night sweats, hemoptysis, and gross weight loss; the Paris physicians had given her weeks to live.
She came to Lourdes on the August 1895 national pilgrimage. Bathed in the piscines on August 21 she was instantly cured: the fever and cough stopped, the hemoptysis did not return, and she gained weight steadily through the autumn. The cure was followed by the Lourdes Medical Bureau and was recognised by the Bishop of Beauvais as the 21st miraculous Lourdes cure.
