Clémentine Malot of Bourcq in the Pas-de-Calais was 25 and dying of advanced pulmonary tuberculosis: continuous fever, profuse hemoptysis, severe cachexia. She was carried to Lourdes on a stretcher on the August 1898 pilgrimage.
Bathed in the piscines on August 21 she was instantly restored: the fever and cough stopped, the hemoptysis did not return, and she regained normal weight over the autumn. The cure was followed by the Lourdes Medical Bureau and was recognised by the Bishop of Arras as the 24th miraculous Lourdes cure.
