Élisa Seisson, of Thuir in the Pyrénées-Orientales, was 27 years old and had suffered for years from severe cardiac hypertrophy with marked dyspnea, palpitations, and gross peripheral oedema. The Perpignan doctors who had treated her without success considered her case terminal.
She came to Lourdes on the pilgrimage of August 1882. On August 29 she bathed in the piscines and emerged with the dyspnea, palpitations, and oedema gone. She lived another four decades. The cure was recognised by the Bishop of Perpignan as the 12th miraculous cure on the official Lourdes list.
