Juliette Tamburini of Marseille had suffered since the age of ten from chronic osteoperiostitis of the left femur, with persistent discharging fistulae and periodic massive hemorrhages that several times had put her near death. She had spent the previous twelve years in and out of hospitals; multiple operations had failed.
She came to Lourdes on the Marseille pilgrimage of July 1959. On July 17 she bathed in the piscines. The hemorrhaging stopped; the fistulae closed within a week; she resumed normal life. The Lourdes Medical Bureau examined her for six years before the cure was recognised as the 61st miraculous Lourdes cure by the Archbishop of Marseille on May 31, 1965.
