Lydia Brosse — extensive tubercular abscesses
October 11, 1930 · Grotto of Massabielle, Lourdes, France
Status: approved holy see

Lydia Brosse of Saint-Raphaël on the Côte d'Azur was 41 in 1930 and had suffered for years from extensive multifocal tuberculous abscesses on the neck, in the right axilla, and on the back, with chronic suppurating fistulae. By the autumn of 1930 she was bedridden and judged terminal.

She was carried to Lourdes on the October 1930 pilgrimage. Bathed in the piscines on October 11 she was instantly cured — every fistula closed, the abscesses resolved, and she walked from the baths. The Lourdes Medical Bureau followed her recovery and the cure was recognised by the Bishop of Fréjus as the 39th miraculous Lourdes cure.
