Marie Fabre had severe visceral ptosis with marked uterine prolapse, displacement of the abdominal viscera, and chronic intractable vomiting that had reduced her to a state of cachexia. Surgical correction had failed.
She came to Lourdes on the September 1911 pilgrimage. Bathed in the piscines she was instantly cured — the prolapse reduced, the vomiting ceased, and normal nutrition resumed. The cure was studied by the Lourdes Medical Bureau and recognised on the official Lourdes list.
