Marie Mabille — pulmonary tuberculosis
August 1908 · Grotto of Massabielle, Lourdes, France
Status: approved holy see

Marie Mabille was a French laywoman suffering from advanced pulmonary tuberculosis with continuous fever, hemoptysis, and severe cachexia. Her physicians had judged her condition terminal.

She came to Lourdes on the August 1908 national pilgrimage — the great fiftieth-anniversary pilgrimage of the 1858 apparitions, which produced an unusually large cluster of recognised cures (including Marie Biré and Aimée Allope in this same pilgrimage). Bathed in the piscines she was instantly cured: the fever and cough stopped, the hemoptysis did not return, and she regained normal weight steadily over the following months. The cure was followed by the Lourdes Medical Bureau and recognised on the official Lourdes list.
