Healings — Marie-Thérèse Canin — Pott's disease

Marie-Thérèse Canin — Pott's disease
October 9, 1947 · Grotto of Massabielle, Lourdes, France
Status: approved holy see

Marie-Thérèse Canin of Marseille was 37 and had suffered for years from Pott's disease of the lumbar spine with marked kyphosis, a large paraspinal abscess, and progressive paraplegia. She was bedridden and her physicians had judged the case beyond treatment.

She came to Lourdes on the October 1947 pilgrimage. Bathed in the piscines on October 9 she was instantly cured — the kyphosis reduced, the abscess resolved, and she walked from the baths upright. The cure was followed by the Lourdes Medical Bureau and was recognised by the Archbishop of Marseille as the 49th miraculous Lourdes cure.
