Paul Pellegrin — chronic suppurating fistulae of the hip
October 3, 1950 · Grotto of Massabielle, Lourdes, France
Status: approved holy see

Paul Pellegrin of Toulon had suffered since 1944 from chronic post-traumatic osteomyelitis of the right hip following a war wound, with persistent discharging fistulae that had resisted antibiotics and repeated surgery. He had been judged incurable.

He came to Lourdes on the October 1950 pilgrimage. Bathed in the piscines on October 3 he was instantly cured — the fistulae closed and ceased discharging within hours; the underlying osteomyelitis was gone. The Lourdes Medical Bureau followed the case and the cure was recognised by the Bishop of Toulon as the 54th miraculous Lourdes cure.
