Rose François, 36, of Paris, had a chronic non-healing ulcer of the right arm that had resisted every treatment over many years. The Paris hospital physicians had pronounced the wound incurable; she lived in constant pain with frequent secondary infections.
She came to Lourdes on the August 1899 national pilgrimage. Bathed in the piscines she emerged with the wound closed and re-epithelialising. Healing was complete within days and the ulcer never returned. The cure was recognised by the Archdiocese of Paris as the 25th miraculous Lourdes cure.
