Sister Julienne — chronic knee disease
August 18, 1889 · Grotto of Massabielle, Lourdes, France
Status: approved holy see

Sister Julienne (in religion; born Anne Briand) was a French religious of the Daughters of Wisdom serving at Bordeaux. She had suffered for many years from a chronic effusion and progressive degenerative disease of the right knee, with marked atrophy of the lower leg and the inability to bear weight without crutches. The Bordeaux physicians had judged the condition irreversible.

She made the August 1889 national French pilgrimage to Lourdes. On August 18, 1889 she bathed in the piscines and was instantly cured — the knee mobility restored, the atrophy resolved over the following weeks. The cure was studied for many years by the Lourdes Medical Bureau and was recognised by the Archbishop of Bordeaux as the 14th miraculous Lourdes cure on the official list.
