Sister Sainte-Béatrix — ovarian peritonitis
August 22, 1904 · Grotto of Massabielle, Lourdes, France
Status: approved holy see

Sister Sainte-Béatrix (born Marie Pelletier) was a French religious of the Lyon region. She had suffered for several years from advanced ovarian peritonitis with progressive abdominal distension, fistulae, and severe cachexia, and had been judged terminal by her physicians.

She came to Lourdes on the August 1904 national pilgrimage. On August 22, 1904 she was bathed in the piscines and was instantly cured — the abdominal distension resolved within days, the fistulae closed, and she regained normal strength over the following months. The cure was followed by the Lourdes Medical Bureau and was recognised by the Cardinal Archbishop of Lyon among the cures of the official Lourdes list.
