Yvonne Fournier of Limoges, 22, had been struck by a train in 1937 with severe injury to her left brachial plexus, leaving the arm permanently paralysed, atrophic, and useless — a condition confirmed at multiple neurological examinations.
She came to Lourdes on the August 1945 pilgrimage. Bathed in the piscines on August 19 she emerged with the arm fully restored: motor and sensory function returned, the atrophy reversed over the following weeks. The Lourdes Medical Bureau followed her for years and the cure was recognised by the Bishop of Limoges as the 45th miraculous Lourdes cure.
