Life

Andrew (Italian Andrea) was born in 1400 at Peschiera del Garda in the Republic of Venice. He entered the Dominican Order at the Convent of San Marco at Florence under the direction of Bl. Fra Angelico's contemporary community and of St. Antoninus of Florence.

Andrew undertook the missionary vocation to the Alpine Valtelline and Grisons regions — in the Lombard-Alpine region that straddled the Catholic Lombardy and the Grisons-Swiss regions with mixed Catholic-Waldensian populations. Andrew preached across the Alpine mountain valleys for 45 years (1440–1485).

He died at Morbegno on January 18, 1485 at the age of 85.
