Life

Constantius (Italian Costanzo) Bernocchi was born in 1410 at Fabriano in the Papal States. He entered the Dominican Order at the age of 15 and became one of the principal Dominican Observant preachers of the Marchigian and Umbrian region.

Constantius served as prior of the Dominican Convents of Fabriano, Perugia, and Ascoli Piceno — producing the late-15th-century Marchigian Dominican Observance under his governance.

He became famous during his lifetime for his preaching and prophetic gifts. He died at Ascoli Piceno on February 24, 1481.
