MIRACULOUS MIRACLES™

The Way of the Cross

Walk the road to Calvary station by station, as pilgrims have done in Jerusalem since the earliest centuries. At each station pause, adore, and meditate — the Scripture, the scene, the grace to ask — following Our Lord from His condemnation to His burial.

Five of the fourteen stations — the three falls, the meeting with His Mother, and Veronica — rest on the Tradition of the Church rather than on an explicit Gospel verse; at these we read the prophetic passages the devotional booklets have always used. In 1991 Pope St. John Paul II offered a Scriptural Way of the Cross drawn wholly from the Gospels, and some churches add a fifteenth station, the Resurrection.
