“You shall be witnesses unto me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the uttermost part of the earth” (Acts 1:8). Luke’s second book keeps that promise in order, and so does this map: every narrative episode of the Acts of the Apostles — 70 scenes at 52 sites in 9 modern countries — placed where it happened, each with its Scripture to read in place and an honest grade of how sure we can be: identified by archaeology, marked by a traditional site, a general area the text names, or genuinely debated — the 2 debated sites show every rival on the map. Paul’s stops are the atlas journeys’ own, so the two never disagree.

The Gospels end at the empty tomb and the mountain; Acts begins there and ends, without an ending, in a rented room in Rome. Where the story continues — Peter and Paul’s deaths, the apostles scattering to India and Scythia — it continues on the atlas’s journeys and in the saints’ own pages.
