On the morning of February 3, 1822, during the public Eucharistic adoration at the chapel of St. Eulalia in Bordeaux, the figure of the resurrected Christ — vested and crowned — appeared within the consecrated host in the monstrance. The image was visible for some forty-five minutes and was witnessed by several hundred laypeople and clergy. Several detailed depositions survive; the Archbishop of Bordeaux confirmed the local cult.
