In 1602 thieves stole a consecrated host from a parish church in Bydgoszcz in northern Poland. Weeks later, in deep winter, a peasant noticed an unwithered green circle of grass in a meadow beside the Brda river. Digging, he uncovered the host, undamaged. The local bishop confirmed the cult; the relic was returned in procession to the parish.
