In 1394 at the small Catalan town of Cubelles, near Vilanova i la Geltrú, a small consecrated host was found by chance in a niche of the parish church — apparently hidden by an unknown earlier celebrant. It had been preserved untouched for an unknown period, and bore in dark sepia tones the visible imprint of a small crucifix. The bishop of Barcelona confirmed the cult and the relic was preserved.
