The Eucharistic Miracle of Gerona
1297 · Cathedral of Girona, Spain
Status: approved holy see

In 1297 in the Catalan city of Girona, a Jewish woman came into possession of a consecrated host. As she examined it, the host began to bleed in her hands. The phenomenon led, by her own testimony, to her conversion and that of her entire household. The bishop took the relic; it was preserved at the cathedral. (As with other Spanish and Italian medieval miracles involving Jewish converts, the modern Church frames these as accounts of grace and conversion, not as anti-Jewish polemic.)
