Following the celebrated Santarém Eucharistic miracle of 1247, a parallel cult of Corpus Christi developed in nearby Lisbon. The Chapel of the Corpo Santo ('Holy Body') in Lisbon's old port quarter was the site of several secondary Eucharistic phenomena over the following two centuries, including the preservation of consecrated hosts during the great Lisbon earthquake of 1531 and the related cult that survived the catastrophic 1755 earthquake. The cult is documented in St. Carlo Acutis's catalogue.
