During the religious turmoil of early 16th-century Picardy, two consecrated hosts hidden in the wreckage of the parish church of Marseille-en-Beauvaisis (in modern Oise) were forgotten and lost. When the rebuilt church was being prepared in 1533, the hosts were rediscovered in the foundation — untouched by years of damp, fire, and animal damage. The bishop of Beauvais confirmed the local cult; the hosts were preserved in the new church.
