The Eucharistic Miracle of Morrovalle
April 17, 1560 · Augustinian Friary, Morrovalle, Italy
Status: approved holy see

On the night of April 17, 1560, a fire broke out at the Augustinian friary of Morrovalle in the Marche region of Italy. By morning the entire church had been reduced to ashes. When the friars sifted through the rubble of the tabernacle, they found that the silver ciborium had melted into a single shapeless mass — but the large consecrated host within had survived intact, unburnt, set into a hollow within the molten metal.

Pope Pius IV examined the relic in person and confirmed the public cult. The host and the molten ciborium are still preserved together at the Augustinian church of Morrovalle.
