Eucharistic — The Eucharistic Miracle of Ravenna

The Eucharistic Miracle of Ravenna
1213 · Ravenna (Sant'Apollinare), Italy
Status: approved holy see

During Mass at the Basilica of Sant'Apollinare in Classe at Ravenna in 1213, blood was seen to flow from the consecrated host onto the linen corporal — witnessed by the celebrant and his attendant deacons. The bloodstained corporal was preserved and venerated. Ravenna, ancient capital of the Roman West, had long been a centre of Eucharistic devotion; this miracle is documented in St. Carlo Acutis's catalogue.
