In 1255 during a Corpus Christi procession through Regensburg, the consecrated host carried in the monstrance was seen to drip blood, leaving visible bright red marks on the cobblestones of the street through which the procession passed. The bishop confirmed the local cult. The site is associated with the later church of the Schöne Maria.
