The Eucharistic Miracle of Santarcangelo
1117 · Santarcangelo di Romagna, Italy
Status: approved holy see

In the small Romagnol town of Santarcangelo, a stone slab in the wall of a private home opened by itself in 1117 to reveal a small alcove containing an undamaged consecrated host. Local tradition held that a parish priest, fleeing political violence connected with the Investiture Controversy, had hidden the Blessed Sacrament in the wall before being killed — and the wall had now opened to restore the relic to public veneration. The relic was preserved at the parish church; the site is documented in St. Carlo Acutis's catalogue.
