On January 14, 1907, thieves broke into the parish church of Silla, south of Valencia, and stole the silver ciborium with its consecrated hosts. Fleeing pursuit, they dropped the ciborium in a field on the edge of the town. At dawn the next morning the parishioners found the consecrated hosts dispersed across the field — each one undamaged, each giving off a visible light. The Archbishop of Valencia confirmed the local cult. The relics were returned to the parish in solemn procession.
