Miraculous Miracles is meant for everyone. We want every visitor — including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, captions, or other assistive technology — to be able to read these stories, pray these prayers, and explore this history.

Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and we treat accessibility as ongoing work rather than a one-time checkbox.

Where we are today

Honestly stated, the site is a work in progress:

  • What works now. The site is built with semantic HTML; a skip-to-content link is the first thing the keyboard reaches on every page; text throughout can be resized and reflows; color is managed centrally with attention to contrast in both dark and light themes; animations respect your reduced-motion preference; the main images carry descriptive alternative text; and every marker on the interactive map is a genuine button with an accessible label, so markers can be reached and activated from the keyboard.
  • Alternatives to the map. The interactive map is the richest way to browse the catalogue, but it is not the only way. Everything on the map is also available as ordinary, screen-reader-friendly pages: the Timeline lists every dated entry chronologically, the Categories pages list every miracle by type, and each miracle and saint has its own full text page. Site search (press / or Ctrl/Cmd+K) reaches everything.
  • What we are improving. We are actively working on: consistently visible keyboard-focus indicators across the site, clearer programmatic state on the map's filter controls, and easier keyboard traversal of dense marker clusters. We audit key pages with automated tools and are extending manual screen-reader testing.

The mobile app

The mobile app renders the same content as the website, so improvements ship to both at once.

Tell us what's in your way

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, we genuinely want to know, and we will treat it as a priority. Write to contact@miraculousmiracles.org and describe the page and the barrier you hit (and, if you're comfortable sharing, the assistive technology you use). We aim to respond within a few business days, and faster for barriers that block access entirely. If a page is inaccessible to you, we will do our best to provide the content in a form that works for you while we fix it.
